Being Real...

Wearing a mask makes us feel alright
but not on the inside
When people are not real and everything is superficial

In this world of darkness
Where people can be unkind
They may not like me and think I am one of a kind

I would rather have 3 friends
Who would love me for me
Than have a 103 who really do not know me

In reality, everyone wears a mask
Now and again
And it is to cover our shame

Only by God’s love can we be real and uncover our mask
And they may not like what they see
but I would rather have people who will stand by me for "Me"

Dear girl,

Every now and again, we feel this fear of being real and there is this cover up of who we are on the inside. We learn to be open and learn to trust as we get to know someone better. It is difficult to get true friends if they only know us superficially.

Anyway, by God’s grace we can CHOOSE to be open and real and we are all learning...to some we are more open, to others less, but we are who we are...accept me for who I am..and I hope we are still friends...
