LITTLE THINGS IN LIFE
I have thoroughly enjoyed for a season –
- painting my nails with all kinds of colours – green, blue and white
- rearing fish – from garpies to fighting fish (had about 20 garpies in a basin in my room...until they died one by one...:( i think no oxygen la...found out fighting fish last longer)
- gardening – would rush to nurseries after work just to buy plants
- keeping turtles as pets until I found out I was making them fast (urhm…when I forget to feed them?) much too often…now given them away for adoption
- had at one time 4 kittens and 2 cats running around in my house (I only have one left, who is quite a nuisance…might give her away on your birthday)
What I enjoy doing now –
- listening to music, reading a book or just sleeping…(hehe)
- going to mamak so much so, as soon as they see my car, they already start making my favourite drink…teh tarik kurang manis…
- window shopping – especially after heavy counseling
- blogging!! (Is this seasonal? I really don’t know….just enjoying it thoroughly now, can be quite addictive…)
- chit chatting with friends…even children….so adorable!
- laughing…one of the things I appreciate being in our pastoral team…we laugh off a lot of heavy burdens…very necessary you know!
What I would like to do when I have the time –
- take a drive to P.D, sit by the beach and enjoy the breeze…east coast is of course much nicer lah..
- take a long holiday away from everyone (don’t get hurt k…I love being with you all) just that I do enjoy being by myself for a season. Perhaps go to a foreign land, enjoy the hotel facilities (may just stay in the whole day) and go out for meals etc…and shop of course…but not too long being alone…like I said, I love being with friends…so for a while only lah…in case you cannot get me at my h/p or find me in the office and the office reception says “She is on leave.” (I may be in another part of the world by then…)hehe..by the way I have done this before but the furthest I went on my own to that hideaway was to Singapore! Enjoyed the train journey! Was superb!
Well, through it all, I really thank God for the little things. Wish I had more time in my hands. Time flies! I may never do those “seasonal” things again but during those times, I thoroughly enjoyed them.
In our busyness, do not forget intimacy with God, intimacy with friends, intimacy with yourself…discovering who you are and enjoying what God has given you…simply, enjoy the little things! -jo-
