DISAPPEAR
On a day like this I want to crawl beneath a rock
A million miles from the world,
The noise, the commotion
That never seems to stop
And on a day like this I want to run from the routine
Run away from the daily grind that can suck the life
Right out of me
I only know of one place I can run to…
I want to hide in You
The way, the life, the truth
So I can disappear
And love is all there is to see
Coming out of me
And you become clear
As I disappear
I don’t want to care about earthly things
Be caught up in all the lies that trick my eyes
They say it’s all about me
I’m so tired of it being about me…
I would rather be cast away
Separated from the human race
If I don’t bring You glory
Song by Chad and Jess Cates in the album “Try” by Bebo Norman
There are times when we feel we would like to run away and be somewhere alone, and reflect on things we have gone through.
Times when we just want to be ourselves because the world has put us into a mold and we have forgotten who we really are.
The mask we put on in front of others makes us lonelier inside
Pretending to be someone we are not is like acting on stage and
When the curtains are drawn and we’re back to the norm
Loneliness creeps inside
In all our busyness of life have we forgotten to be real?
Laying aside our fears and unveiling who we really are inside?
I guess it is a risk to open up and be ourselves as we fear the rejection and the pain
But real friendships are found in knowing and accepting the beauty and ugliness we see

Day after day, I think we are being challenged to be more open and transparent with one another. Being who we really are and loving the person God has made us to be, frees us from fear. We don’t have to win the approval of others. We don’t have to live up to what others expect of us. “IT WAS FOR FREEDOM that Christ has set us free.”
As we get away and reflect who we are on the inside, and allow God to come in and bring change, we realize it is no longer about us. Like the song says, it is not about me…as we allow God to come in and break down the walls we have built up, as we reflect on Him and seek His face more and more, something inside of us begins to break…the coldness and the fears…. We begin to embrace more of Him and in time, we are no longer afraid. We want our lives to bring Him glory...

Just by being the REAL me!
